Art Exhibition at the Caribbean Sea Jazz Festival

During this year’s Caribbean Sea Jazz Festival the Fourth annual CSJF Jazz Art Exhibition was held. The exhibition is sponsored by TAG 168, an Aruban Art Foundation. One of the highlights of this year’s exhibition was the raffling off the “Cooperative Painting,”which was created during last year’s festival. Read this post for more information about this art piece.

This year’s exhibition also held the First Annual Public Choice Award for participating artists. Visitors voted on their favorite art work. Congratulations to Reginald de Palm, who won this year’s award. Mr. DePalm is a student of Timothy Charles, one of Aruba’s most famous local artists.

Mr. Charles is host of “Creatividad,” an arts television show broadcast on Tele Aruba. You can watch episodes of this show on Videoaruba.com, a great site to find Aruba based videos. Better brush up on your Papiamento, though, or you won’t understand a word.

If you are interested in learning more about the growing Aruban arts scene and local artists, visit this site. the site is currently under construction and some of the links are broken, so hopefully more information will be available soon.
